The Justdiggit
Data Dashboard

Want to easily access comprehensible climate and impact data from our project areas? Use our Data Dashboard!

The dashboard, created on Google Earth Engine, offers a useful and simple insight into the climatic aspects, as temperature & precipitation, and vegetation characteristics, like biomass production, of our project areas over time. This application can helps to get better insights into our project areas and evaluate our regreening impact. Take a look at it yourself:

How to use the dashboard

Want to use the dashboard? This is how it works:

  1. Select the indicator you want to know more about in the Selection Menu on the left. You can first choose from eight indicators, ranging from precipitation, vegetation greenness to temperate and soil moisture. For those curious about these different datasets, these are also further explained in the Dataset Specifics.
  2. Select the Justdiggit area of interest or a manual location on the map at “Location” in the menu.
  3. After having selected the project location, you have the option of comparing this location to a control area or to another Justdiggit project area.
  4. As a final step, the program asks to select a time frame by filling in a starting date and an end date.
  5. All you have to do now is to click the button “Generate Data” and you are set to delve into the generated information. The selected project areas are marked on the map and the newly generated “Analysis” tab graphically visualizes the respective data and provides a statistical summary. The data can then also be downloaded as an image or numerically in CSV format.

Potential upgrades for better insight

The tool is currently in its starting phase, meaning that it will receive several upgrades that make the tool even more insightful and easier to navigate. For example, we are aiming to make more datasets available for selection and embed information such as the data specification table directly into the tool. With these improvements, we can get an even better insight into the effectiveness of our regreening projects and reevaluate certain interventions. Finally, we would like to spread this tool and encourage its usage among everyone that is interested in getting a deeper insight into our project areas and the impact we have. By having access to these data, users can also better grasp the impact their contributions have and can be inspired to continue supporting Justdiggit!
