Langata – February 2026

During the October–December 2025 rainy season, the Langata bund site received some rainfall. Grass started to grow, and vegetation inside the bunds appeared greener than the surrounding areas. This shows how the bunds help retain water and support recovery, even with limited rainfall.

The area has remained dry during this reporting period. Because of this, both wildlife and livestock have continued to graze in the area, including zebras, gazelles, elephants and giraffes.

Local grazing committees have met with herders and rangers to encourage protection of the site and responsible use as the land continues to recover.
