Justdiggit aims at reversing the process of global desertification and ecosystem degradation. The Foundation seeks to achieve this by implementing local ecosystem restoration programs, developing international awareness campaigns, and through education programs.

Policy plan 

Justdiggit has a multi-annual policy plan in place for 2016-2018. Each year a new annual policy plan is prepared and if applicable the multi-annual policy plan is adjusted.

Our mission is to launch integrated landscape restoration programs (Hydrologic Corridor Programs) in regions which can be restored and to create a global social movement for climate action. On the program side, we apply proven rainwater infiltration and conservation techniques at a large scale to restore entire ecosystems, aiming to make the local climate resilient.  On the social side, we build a global community for consumers, enterprises, scientists and artists inspired by the success and simplicity of our projects combined with our creative marketing and communication.

We start a program through development and implementation of the first project of a program together with the government or other international authority with the ability to scale the project into a program. Besides the implementation of the first project we co-develop a proposal to apply for funding for the full program. Together with our media partners we develop campaigns and we also enroll our education programs on primary schools in the Netherlands.

In 2017 we are planning to start new Hydrologic Corridor Programs in two new countries and apply for one program application. Furthermore we will continue the implementation of our Morocco project. We will launch a new campaign and internationalize our social movement activities to Germany, England, Italy and USA. We aim to implement our education program at 15 primary schools in the Netherlands.

Our fundraising strategy focuses on companies (amongst others company foundations, CSR, footprint compensation, sponsoring), consumer donations, Rainmakers (Rainmakers are individuals who support Naga with overhead costs funding, network and influence) and grant applications (foundations and international (climate) funds).

Donations with a certain purpose are reserved in our Appropriation Fund and are only used for agreed purposes. All available capital is at free disposal of Justdiggit Foundation on her bank accounts.

The budget with planned expenditures for a certain year is approved by the Supervisory Board. The CFO gives at least a monthly account on the current expenditures to the Board and gives account for the expenditures to the Supervisory Board at least quarterly.

Executive and Supervisory Board 

Justdiggit Foundation’s Executive Board – which in 2017 was made up of Olivier Maes (CEO) and Dennis Karpes (Co-founder and creative director) – operates under the aegis of, and is advised by a Supervisory Board, which latter Board, whose members receive no award but can be allocated an expense allowance.

The Board is responsible for overseeing the general affairs of the Foundation and the supervision of the Executive Board’s Management and policies.

The Board is in charge of the – periodically evaluated – remunerative policy of the Executive Board due allowances being made in this respect for the Wijffels Committee’s “Governance Code for Charities”.
