Lormeuti / Ilchakita – Bunds Update – August 2026

The Ilchakita and Lormeuti Extension Bund Site continues to show positive signs of recovery, despite receiving below-average rainfall during the March–May rainyseason. Grass seed germination has exceeded 60% across most of the bunds, while the use of acacia prunings to cover the bunds has provided protection from livestock grazing and supported seed establishment.

Wildlife grazing pressure has been relatively high; however, given the extensive scale of restoration undertaken across the site, the area continues to demonstrate encouraging vegetation recovery and restoration progress.
