Mkalama Cluster D Treecovery Update – May 2026

An update from Cluster D

Cluster D demonstrated the highest proportional growth at 58.3%, results are accelerating! At the household level, active implementation increased by 16.5% compared to last year among trained households. This has resulted in the restoration of an additional 506,421 trees so far this year, bringing the total number of restored trees at the household level in Cluster D to 1,420,343!

A success story: regreening the school in cluster D!

A Kisiki Hai woodlot at Igengu Primary School in Mkalama District, Iringa. These trees are just two years old since their first pruning, yet they already stand tall and are beginning to transform the surrounding environment. The woodlot consists of approximately 200 trees, demonstrating the rapid impact of Kisiki Hai restoration.
