Timberland and Justdiggit partnership will bring back 10 million trees in Tanzania

Timberland and Justdiggit partnership will bring back 10 million trees in Tanzania!
As part of its pursuit of a greener future, Timberland today has announced a bold commitment to plant or grow 50 million trees worldwide over the next five years, helping to fight the effects of climate change and build stronger communities. This builds upon the 10 million they’ve already planted (since 2001).

Timberland and Justdiggit, as part of this commitment, have started a long term partnership that  will bring back 10 million trees in rural Tanzania between 2020 and 2025.

Justdiggit already started a large scale regreening program in Dodoma Tanzania in 2017 promoting and training Farmer Managed Naturel Regeneration (FMNR) techniques to 180.000 farmers that focus on growing millions of trees. See the Rainmakers III film on the impact of this Justdiggit program.

In the first half of 2020 with Justdiggit and Timberland start a joint program that will restore 10 million trees by 2025. This will have impact on hundreds of thousands of local people and farmers, food security, nature / biodiversity, water and climate (8 SDG’s in total) Timberland and Justdiggit about it’s new partnership:
