What is a
bund?

Harvesting rainwater by breaking open the toplayer of the dry soil

A bund is a half moon-shaped pit that collects rainwater. Bunds are dug in project areas in Kenya to capture rainwater that would otherwise wash away over the dry, barren ground, causing erosion and floods elsewhere. Large areas can be greened quickly by digging bunds, which significantly impacts biodiversity, nature, people, and the climate.

How many bunds
will DHL dig with
Justdiggit?

The 12,000+ bunds that DHL will dig with Justdiggit will capture 109 million gallons of water and save as much as 14,300 tons of CO2 in 20 years’ time.
